British artist Jo Dennis, whose solo show ‘Matter out of Place’ was on view at Sid Motion Gallery from 19 January – 24 February 2017, spoke in conversation with Rodrigo Orrantia and Sid Motion on 8th February 2017, at the gallery.
Jo Dennis (b 1973, UK) graduated from a BA in Fine Art and Contemporary Critical Theory from Goldsmiths College, London in 2002.
Dennis has exhibited internationally. Recent exhibitions include Cropped Up at AMP Gallery, UK; Acca Atelier at Galfa 20, Italy; Working from Home at AMP Gallery (for Artlicks Weekend), UK; and a solo booth at The Others Art Fair, Truman Brewery, UK. Dennis’ work has been included extensively in group exhibitions including at the ICA and The Royal Academy of Arts, in London.
Rodrigo Orrantia is an art historian, consultant and curator who specialises in photography and moving image. Rodrigo is interested in photography as an expanding field, exploring its connections with film, sculpture, text, sound and localised performance in his many projects, exhibitions and publications.
